About Saltwood Cabinetry
The Saltwood Team
We’re a team of designers, carpenters, engineers and installers who genuinely love what we do—and believe the best cabinetry comes from bringing all these skills together. From the first sketch to the final installation, our designers focus on creating spaces that feel thoughtful and personal, our engineers make sure every detail works exactly as it should, and our skilled carpenters bring it all to life with craftsmanship and care. The cabinet installers ensure every detail is perfect, from careful scribing to hardware placement.
We’re hands-on, detail-obsessed, and always up for a creative challenge. Whether we’re designing a one-of-a-kind kitchen, a beautifully fitted built-in, or something completely outside the box, our goal is simple: to create custom cabinetry that looks beautiful, functions optimally and feels like it was always meant to be there.
Our Story
Working closely with our parent contracting company, Gulick & Company, our family business has been building, renovating and remodeling homes for over twenty years. Through these projects, we have been producing custom cabinetry and kitchens for clients all around central and shoreline areas of Connecticut. Working from our custom shop in Madison CT, we have built custom cabinets for almost every room in the house from bathrooms and living rooms, to mudrooms and offices, in both newly built and historical homes.
Crafting Custom Cabinets on the CT Shoreline with Precision and Passion
With our background of working extensively to renovate older properties, we have spent a long time honing our understanding and appreciation of classic cabinetry design and making custom solutions for quirky spaces.
Our talented team will work with you to understand exactly what you need, taking into consideration both aesthetics and functionality, and guiding you from concept to drafting plans, to installation and completion. The beauty of custom designed cabinets is that despite the space or configuration of a room, we can come up with a solution to fit that area and make it look like it’s always belonged.
From our humble beginnings many years ago constructing cabinetry in a residential garage, to our present large workshop space, we have grown not only in square footage, but have physically developed our skilled team of designers, engineers, cabinet makers and specialized carpenters. Communication and client support is a key element of our ethos; we want you to have the very best and to feel at ease from the moment you decide to work with us.
At Gulick & Co. we are privileged to have won the 'Best on the Shoreline' awards for the last few years for Best Contractor and Best Remodeler. We are excited to have expanded our company with the newly branded 'Saltwood Cabinetry' which represents our love for custom carpentry and enables us to showcase our design capabilities in tandem with our continuing construction work at Gulick & Co.
